About us We are Travaal, part of the Solomon Beck Group. Our office is based in the UK, and we are committed to compliance with data protection regulations. Travaal sources serviced apartments based on your requirements, and we require certain information to provide our services.
What kind of information we collect from you We collect only what is necessary to handle your enquiry and reservation: your name, telephone number, email address, accommodation preferences, and details of other adult guests. If your employer books accommodation on your behalf, we may collect data from them.
We also collect website usage data via cookies, including your IP address, browser type, and language preferences.
Travaal does not store your payment information. Instead, payments are processed securely via a third-party payment provider.
Why we collect and use your personal data Your personal data is used to:
- Provide accommodation options via email
- Communicate with you by phone and email
- Complete and administer your reservation
Your data is shared only when you decide to reserve an accommodation. At that point, necessary information is passed to the accommodation provider.
We retain correspondence and reservation data for up to 6 years for auditing and compliance purposes.
If you opt-in, we may send marketing materials like our monthly newsletter, promotions, or special offers.
CCTV at our offices is used for security and health and safety, and footage is stored for 10 days unless required for investigation.
Third-party answering service: If you call outside business hours, ‘Moneypenny’ may take your name and number and pass it to us. They delete this data once passed on.
Sharing your data We only share data to fulfil your reservation, and only with the accommodation provider you select. Providers outside the UK/EU must comply with model data protection clauses approved by the EU.
We may also disclose data:
- If required by law
- For legal claims
- In the event of business sale or acquisition
- To approved IT or technology providers under strict confidentiality
Children’s Personal Data You must be over 18 to book an apartment. If children are travelling, we may ask for their ages but do not collect their personal details.
Use of Social Media We use social media to share updates and sometimes run competitions. If we need to contact you (e.g., for a prize), we will use your data only as necessary and in accordance with this policy.
Call Recordings Some calls may be recorded for training and monitoring. Not all calls are recorded. Recorded calls are deleted within 14 days and are not shared outside our group.
